My Favorite Lemonade Recipes

Tuesday, July 5, 2016
My preferred drink in summer is definitely water. I like it ice cold, and I drink it by the plenty. But every so often I get a hankering for lemonade. I love the combination of sweet and tart, and honestly, is there a drink that embodies summer more than lemonade?

My kids love the lemonade from the boardwalk, but I find it to be overly sweet or not well mixed, with most of the sugar settling on the bottom of the cup. Ideally, I like to make a batch of homemade lemonade rather than buy it. Here are a few of my favorite recipes.

Skinny Lemonade
This is my go-to basic lemonade recipe. I like it because it contains Stevia rather than sugar, so it's diabetic friendly but just as tasty.

Frosted Lemonade
This is a refreshingly tasty treat that quenches your thirst and cools you off. It's almost like drinking a lemon meringue pie.

Green Tea Lemonade
I love green tea, and with the addition of lemonade, it's even better! This recipe is made with green tea bags that are a blend of sencha (a type of green tea) and matcha (green tea powder). You get all the health benefits of matcha without the taste, which can be very earthy.

Raspberry Peach Lemonade
Fresh raspberries and peaches add a wonderful flavor to this refreshing lemonade. Don't forget the garnish...it's the best part!

Cucumber Mint Lemonade
I've tried several recipes for cucumber mint lemonade, and this one is by far the best. It is a bit labor intensive as you have to grate the cucumber and then strain the liquid through cheesecloth. But it is sooo worth it. The flavor is incredibly light and very refreshing.
