Emerald: Pantone's Color of 2013

The color experts at Pantone have deemed emerald to be the color of 2013. With visions of "The Wizard of Oz" in my head, I quickly thought about all the lovely things I could wear in this vibrant color.

As a green-eyed blonde, I am particularly fond of emerald as it goes great with my hair, skin tone, and eyes. I went to work and put together a Polyvore board with some of my favorite emerald items for winter. I wouldn't recommend wearing all of these items together. You want to have a subtle splash of color, not a huge overdose.

I do love the jeans and the bag together though. If emerald is too bold for you, try wearing a small element of emerald such as a scarf, a belt, or a piece of jewelry and play the other items in your outfit off of the one emerald piece.
