Objects of My Obsession

Sunday, September 14, 2014
This week was the first full week of school, and boy, did it do me in. I'm still adjusting to early mornings, packing lunches and snacks, and all the other tedious but necessary tasks that go into the school year. On the upside, I do have a bit more time for myself like sneaking out for a coffee or a quick stroll on the beach.

Here are a few of the things that made me happy this week.

{A handmade, personalized gift from my sister proudly hanging on our front door}

{A new phone case with a built in battery charger to, hopefully, stave off a failing battery}

{A new notebook to satisfy my love of list making - found at Marshalls}

{An adorable ring holder}

{Getting back to my usual morning routine}

Today is our last full day in Rehoboth Beach. Tomorrow I'll be heading back to New Jersey. This week's installment of OOMO is all about the things I love in Rehoboth Beach. I'll be sad to leave this favorite vacation destination, but I'll be looking forward to our return next year. But for the next 28 hours, I am taking full advantage of vacation mode. Have a great Labor Day weekend! xx

{Just about everyday of our vacation started with a gorgeous sunrise}

{My favorite local pizza from here}

{Long, lazy days spent on the beach}

{The best crepes this side of the Atlantic from here}

{Morning walks with scenic views}

This week was one of those weeks that I can't recall. It went by so quickly and each day seemed jam packed that it's almost impossible to remember specifically what we did or where we went. This weekend is sure to fly by just as quickly. After a crazy weekend last week, we intentionally planned for nothing this weekend. With a day at the pool planned for tomorrow and a quiet day at home on Sunday, it should be just the kind of weekend we need. Hope yours is a fabulous one too! xx

{A show of seaside patriotism}

{Italians know how to do coffee}

{Totally owning my crazy cat lady moniker}

{A gray, rainy day made better by pink fluffy ranunculus this week}

{This week's biggest obsession: the kitchen of our friends' newly built home in Avalon, NJ}

We are heading down the coast to Avalon, New Jersey this weekend to visit friends. We are super excited to see them and their new home. They demolished their old summer home and built a bigger one in its place. We've seen a few pictures, but I'm sure they don't do it justice. On Sunday, we'll be making the trek to north Jersey for a dual graduation party, a high school and a college.

It's sure to be a busy weekend, but definitely a fun one. Hope your weekend is a fun one too. xx

Here are 5 things that are making me ultra happy this week.

{A new favorite bedtime snack}

{An oh-so-true cat comic}

{Found: a favorite street sign}

{I want to spend the rest of my life here}

{The perfect flats for fall and early winter}

It's hard to believe that it's August 1st. The summer is flying by, and before I know it, I'll be sending the girls back to school. But until I do, I'll be taking full advantage of the next 5 weeks of summer break, starting with this weekend!

Whatever you plan to do this weekend, make it a fun one. xx

Here are the things that made me happy this week.

Last weekend was one of those weekends. You know....the kind that leaves you completely fulfilled and ready to take on a new week. I spent the weekend in central Pennsylvania where I was born and raised until I moved away to go to college. It was a weekend filled with family, and it was just what I needed to feed my soul.

This week's OOMO is dedicated to the small things that made me happy during our long weekend in the country. I hope you can find a few things that make you happy this weekend. xx

{A plethora of fresh vegetables from a local farm}

{A sweet Amish girl handing out caramel corn samples}

{Swimming with cousins}

{Neighboring farms}

{No trip home is complete without a stop at my favorite ice cream shop for a "Chocolate Jigger"}

This weekend I am planning on taking a social media break. I really need some time away from my laptop. This afternoon, I'm planning to enjoy a beautiful day at the pool, and tonight my girls and I will be taking in Disney's "Frozen" on the beach at Jenkinson's Pavillion. I'm looking forward to a Friday night that's off the beaten path. Hoping your weekend is filled to the brim with fun. xx

The first full week of summer vacation is coming to a close, and it was a glorious one. With time spent at the pool, several sleepovers, and a trip to the beach, I'm already exhausted. But I've got my babies back for the next two months, and I couldn't be happier. On that note, hope you have a happy weekend doing what you love. xx

Here's what's making me happy this week:

{A mid-week treat from my husband}

{Lazy weekends by the pool}

{Friday night snacks: homemade margaritas, guacamole, and chips}

{My morning tea would be perfect in one of these state mugs}

{Sam's early morning sun-bathing ritual}

School is winding down. After today, there are 4 days remaining until summer vacation. This week there were classroom parties, cleaning out desks and cleaning off bulletin boards. Lots of papers and crafts came home, and lots of decisions made about what to keep and what to toss. Always stressful. Tomorrow we are heading to Philadelphia to meet up with my sister April who is a flight attendant and has a weekend layover in Philly. Sunday, of course, will be spent pampering the Hubs. Have a great weekend. xx

Here are some of the things making me happy this week.

{The "Princess" cupcake from Crumbs, which helped me get through a hump day slump}

{A new favorite piece of artwork: a painting of a poppy field by Harper, trimmed down and framed}

{I've always loved silver jewelry, but lately I am loving delicate gold jewelry like this initial necklace which was a gift from my friends at Aveeno}

{The "SHEILA" heel from Sole Socieity, which I purchased today for a mere $28. Check out the big 60% off sandal sale}

{CoverGirl Outlast has become my go-to nail polish. It's long lasting and comes in tons of great colors. And now they come in "Glosstinis", mini versions in fun summer colors. Color shown: Raving Hot}
