You can never go wrong with a bottle of wine as a gift. Kick up the bottle of wine a notch by accompanying it with any one of these items, and you are sure to give a gift in great "taste".
After a long weekend of complete indulgence (way too much stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie), I am ready to get back to sensible and healthy eating. I am loading up on veggie-rich meals this week and hoping to sneak in salads as sides.

One of the fall fashion trends that I have seriously embraced is windowpane checks. It's a classy and simple print and translates well to just about anything from clothing to accessories.
Here are some of my favorite windowpane check pieces that are a must to add to your winter wardrobe.

This year we are spending Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania, the first time since 2007. I am looking forward to spending the weekend with my sisters and their families and enjoying quality time with everyone. We have some activities planned, and of course, we've allowed time for just hanging out and relaxing.
However you are spending your Thanksgiving holiday, I hope it's a wonderful one. xx
The Kate Spade Black Friday sale is in full swing, and the deals are AMAZING! I'm telling you, you can't find prices this low anywhere. In addition to phenomenal deals, enjoy free shipping when you spend $175.
Here are my favorite items from this not-to-be-missed sale.
Something about the holiday season makes me crave plaid. I aways seem to throw it back to my childhood days with the plaid dresses my mom would outfit me in for Christmas Eve and Day. Those dresses made me feel so glamorous and grown up. These days plaid is hot and appropriate for any time of the year, not just the holidays. Currently, I am loving just about anything plaid from bags to shirts to scarves to shoes.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. The over abundance of food makes it impossible not to love Thanksgiving. But what happens when the holiday is over, and you're left with a refrigerator full of leftovers? One can eat only so many turkey sandwiches.
This year I've rounded up some of my favorite recipes for using up Thanksgiving leftovers in creative and delicious ways.
What to do with all the leftover breads and rolls? Easy. Make homemade croutons. They are super simple and require just a few ingredients and a few steps.
Whether you travel twice per year or two hundred times a year, there are some travel items that are essential to have to survive your time on the road. If you have a jet setter on your gift list, make the holiday one to remember with one of these gifts.
1. A portable charger is a MUST when on the road. The mophie Powerstation accommodates just about any USB device in the world.
2. Air travel strips skin of its natural oils. Evian Facial Water Spray replenishes the skin after long flights to keep it hydrated and looking fresh.
3. Personalize your passport and set it apart from the rest of them on the plane with a cute cover.
4. Keep momentos neatly preserved with this travel stub diary which holds ticket stubs, receipts, and photos.
5. I love jotting down notes on what I did, where I ate, and special memories in a cute travel journal.
6. While on vacation, I bought this hanging travel organizer by Vera Bradley, and it is perfection! It's roomy with 2 clear pockets, a large pocket, and one expandable pocket. It has a hanger to conveniently hang on a towel rack in the hotel room.
7. Airline booze is costly, and who doesn't love a refreshing gin and tonic while in flight? This cute carry-on kit allows you to make your own drink at a fraction of the cost.
8. I am a sucker for a super cute luggage tag. The "i'm outta here" tag is the ideal complement to your luggage.
9. I never board a plane without a pair of comfy socks in my carryon. They are a must for cold airplanes and dirty hotel room floors.
10. There's nothing worse than the smell of stale air, someone else's cologne, or worse yet, smoke, in your hotel room. A travel candle masks scents and creates ambience.
I've been MIA from Friday Fresh Picks for a few weeks. I made the best decision of my life to completely unplug while I was on vacation. Other than some posts on Instagram and Snapchat, I consciously did not check email or write blog posts. While I struggled with whether this was the right thing to do, in the end, I couldn't be more happier. I feel refreshed, relaxed, renewed, and ready to get back to Friday Fresh Picks.
Let's chat about my vacation for a moment. It was nothing short of spectacular. We went to South Seas Island Resort for 8 days and the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach for our final weekend. Amazing destinations make for incredible vacations. The weather was gorgeous, by my standards, anyway. Hot, humid, sunny. Typical Florida weather that's perfect for swimming.
OK, moving on to this week's FFP. I'm sharing a few of the things that helped me thoroughly enjoy my vacation. Trust me, it wasn't hard to get into vacation mode and to enjoy it was even easier.
Adult coloring books have become the go-to means for relaxing these days. Fifty years ago, Carl Jung started prescribing coloring to his patients. For good reason, it works! Art therapy has developed a line of adult coloring books that have become a big hit in Europe and are now available in the US.

Brightly colored canoes in the sunshine.
A muted Captiva sunset.
Our welcome back present from the Ritz-Carlton South Beach.
Dusk swimming at the Ritz-Carlton.
I love the retro look of this South Beach lifeguard station.
Aroma Espresso Bar quickly became my go-to spot for cappuccino in South Beach.
The brie platter at Front Porch Cafe in South Beach is bliss. Pair it with the Bellini Martini for a perfect brunch.
