From dealing with boys who get bored easily and simply don’t want to be there to girls who don't the shopping experience to ever end (speaking from experience here!). Making sure that the clothes you buy are both the right size and appropriate, can be a potential minefield! And with the rate at which kids grow, it is an experience that you have to go through over and over again.

Here are a few ways I approach shopping for my children's clothes to make the process a bit easier and smoother:

Make a List

Rather than scrambling to figure out what your child needs when you arrive at the store, write out a list before you go. This way, you know exactly what you are looking for and you can save yourself some valuable time once you are there.

My ten year old daughter Harper is having a moment with rompers lately, and for good reason.

They are perfect for her busy but casual tween lifestyle. And they are a fun alternative to the typical uniform of shorts and a t-shirt.

Friday Fresh Picks: Fabulous Faux Fur Vests for Little Girls

Finally! The weekend is here. We are gearing up for a busy one, and this weekend, there will be a slight chill in the air. It's the perfect time to break out your favorite sweaters, coats, fur vests, and more!

Speaking of fur vests, when I bought my faux fur vest last fall, my nine year old wanted one as well. She would wear mine around the house every chance she had. She saw how frequently I wore mine and how great it looked, and she wanted one too. We scored one last winter at Old Navy, and this fall she couldn't wait to get it out of storage.

Tom and Teddy Swimwear Featured in the Movie "Adult Beginners" {iTunes Giftcard Giveaway}

When I first saw the trailer for Adult Beginners, I thought it looked like a hilarious movie. I loved Rose Byrne in both Bridesmaids and Annie, and I just knew I had to see her in Adult Beginners too. Plus, Bobby Carnavale was smashing in Boardwalk Empire, so he had to be equally as good in this movie.

What I didn't expect was to fall head over heels with the other main characters: the little boy Teddy and his "manny" and uncle Jake. After Jake falls on tough times in Manhattan, he moves in with his sister, played by Rose Byrne, and her family. With no job and no prospects on the horizon, Jake agrees to play the part of Teddy's manny. What we don't expect is the evolution of Jake's love for his newfound role as Teddy's caregiver.

Part of Jake's responsibilities include taking Teddy to his weekly swimming lessons. Jake makes no bones about the fact that he is less than thrilled to take on this task. But he puts on his big boy swimming trunks and takes Teddy for his first lesson. Although the swimming lessons aren't a smashing success, Jake and Teddy do manage to look absolutely adorable in their matching swimming trunks.

After seeing the movie, I was on a quest to discover who made the oh-so-cute matching swimming trunks. Several Google searches later, and I had found my answer. Tom & Teddy is the swimwear brand featured in the movie. Tom & Teddy is an Australian brand which makes matching adult men's and boy's swimsuits. With Father's Day coming up, they make the perfect gifts for special fathers, grandfathers and uncles.

The red and blue octopus trunks were featured in Adult Beginners. In addition to printed shorts, there are also solid colored trunks to choose from. But I have to say, I love the octopus trunks. The colors and the print are too cute.

Fabulous Spring Style for Girls from Tommy Hilfiger

Thank you to Kids Headquarters and Tommy Hilfiger for styling my girls this Mother's Day.

My girls love any excuse to get dressed up. They love to wear their favorite dresses with fancy headbands, hair bows, and sandals. They count down the days until the next special occasion and generally plan their outfits days in advance.

Mother's Day is just days away, and the girls are thrilled to be outfitted in fabulous spring fashions from Kids Headquarters and Tommy Hilfiger this Mother's Day. Mother's Day is generally a busy day for us starting with church and ending with a family gathering hosted by my husband and I at our home. Because it's a full day of plans and activities, it's important that the girls wear dresses that are comfortable but appropriate for a dressier occasion.

The Tommy Hilfiger dresses are perfect for a full day of family fun.

I love all the bright colors set against the neon trim in Harper's dress. This dress is as soft as silk and allows for lots of easy movement.

Emma's flared shirt dress is equally as comfortable. We especially love the subtle lavender shade with a splash of orange in the braided belt.

Weather in May can be unpredictable, so it's always smart to have a light sweater to throw on. This navy cable knit sweater with white trim is perfect for a spring day. It offers just the right amount of coverage should the weather turn a bit chilly or if we decide to take the party outdoors.

My girls are all set for a wonderful Mother's Day celebration. As a mom, I love knowing that they'll be comfortable all day long and at the same time just as cute as can be!
