The Hubs is heading to Florida for a long weekend of golfing with some friends. So that can mean only one thing: GIRLS WEEKEND!!!!!! We'll be watching lots of movies and eating lots of heavily buttered popcorn. But that's not all we'll be doing. Here's a snapshot of how we plan to spend the weekend.

OrangeTheory Fitness recently opened a location in Brick, NJ. If you've never tried a class or have been wanting to give this popular workout place a try, Saturday is the day to do it! OrangeTheory is hosting a fundraiser for JDRF on Saturday, October 21st from 11:45 - 1:15 and cost is $25, all of which is donated to JDRF. You can get more information by checking out the Facebook event here.

This weekend Hackensack Meridian Health hosts it's second annual Women Rock at Convention Hall in Asbury Park on Saturday, October 21 from 12-5 pm. I attended last year's event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their are cooking and fitness demos, inspirational speakers (cosmetics maven Bobbi Brown will be in the house this year for a Q&A session!), a photo booth, and more. You can get more information and register for the event here.

And while you are there, take a stroll around the shops and pop-up in Convention Hall.

A few months ago I accidentally became a pescatarian. I'm not sure how it happened exactly. It just sort of evolved into that. I've never been a big meat eater, and after watching a particularly disturbing documentary, I just stopped eating meat altogether. I didn't even realize I was doing it until The Hubs and I were out for dinner, and he mentioned that he hadn't seen me eat meat in a while. I realized then that I had made an unconscious decision to move more towards a vegetarian lifestyle.

Most days I don't miss meat. In fact, I barely think about it. But there are other times when a vegetarian substitute just won't cut it. I don't care what anyone says...a portobello burger is just not the same as a beef burger. Tacos were another concern until I found this recipe. I'll be making these sweet corn and black bean tacos at some point over the weekend. BTW, if you have any vegetarian recipes you think I'd love, let me know!

Next week I'll be sharing my current five favorite podcasts, but in the meantime, let me let you in on  a little secret: The Daily is not be missed. The Daily is a 20 minute daily podcast from the New York Times hosted by Michael Barbaro. It began airing shortly after Trump's inauguration and has skyrocketed to popularity. It airs every morning at 6 am and provides an in-depth explanation of current and key news and events with a surprising amount of emotion (i.e., it's not like a boring news cast). I listen to it when I first get to the gym. It's become part of my morning ritual.

If you are a fan of YouTube sensation Miranda Sings (a.k.a. Colleen Ballinger, who is brilliant, BTW), you'll want to prep for some binge-watching this weekend when the second season of Haters Back Off airs on Netflix on Friday, October 20th. This quirky, eccentric family is a train wreck where you don't want to watch but can't look away. The characters are dysfunctional. Their home is a cluttered mess. And the plot line is rather weak at best. But that's why I love it. It's an escape that's full of hilarity and bad fashion.

So, tell me. What do you have planned this weekend?
