In four days, my girls and I are heading to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware where we'll spend a relaxing week with my sisters and their children. If you are a long-time reader here, you know that I grew up vacationing in Rehoboth with my parents, sisters, and often, extended family. My sisters and our kids have been doing this trip since 2007, and it's one of my most anticipated weeks of the year. This week will be spent wrapping up posts for the blog, tying up loose ends for a client, and of course, packing, packing, packing. But during those rare moments of downtime, here's how I'll be spending my time.

One of the easiest and most efficient ways to get to Delaware from New Jersey is via the Cape May/Lewes Ferry. Who loves to leave the driving to someone else? 🙋‍♀️ On Saturday morning, we'll make our way to Cape May to board the ferry en route to Lewes, Delaware. Or if you are up for a road trip, park your car at the Cape May terminal and take the ferry to Lewes to explore the historic town by foot. For schedules, fares, and other information, click HERE.

I've loved Kristen Bell since her early days as Veronica Mars. She just knocks it out of the park with every part she plays. She stars with Kelsey Grammar in Like Father as a workaholic advertising executive who is left at the altar on her wedding day and ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her estranged father. It's funny. It's sad. It's full of life lessons and revelations that serve as good reminders of what's important.

Jason Mraz's new album (do we still call them that?) Know dropped on August 10th. If you are a fan, you're going to love his latest release. The first single "Have It All" is a fun, upbeat, feel-good song that's very typical of Mraz's music. Listen (and watch the video) and if you love it, have a listen to the full album on Spotify HERE.

Over the weekend I met a new gym friend for coffee. We mostly chatted about the importance of a consistent fitness routine and the types of exercise we enjoy. We initially met in the sauna and kept running into each other there and in the locker room. Since we had never taken a class together or seen each other in the fitness area where the machines are, we had no idea what each other likes in terms of exercise. During our chat, she mentioned that she uses the app aaptiv to keep her workouts fresh and interesting. I downloaded it and registered for a 30 day trial. So far, I tried two of the thousands (yes, thousands!!) of workouts. One was a running workout and the other was a walking one, and I loved both. My goal is to use the app as much as I can during the trial period to see if it's worth continuing it at $99/year. That seems kind of expensive on the surface, but considering what you pay per session for a personal trainer, $99 per year seems reasonable. There are all sorts of workouts from running to walking to yoga to interval training, and even stretching and meditation.

It's corn season here in New Jersey! While corn on the cob is the preferred way to eat it, I like to mix it up and add a bit more zing to my corn. This recipe for Mexican street corn salad looks like a refreshing treat on a hot summer's day. This would make a great side for grilled chicken or steak, but I plan to make it as a main dish.
