Our First Lakewood Blue Claws Game!

What's summer without a little baseball?

I've lived at the Jersey shore for 12 years. We have a minor league baseball stadium just 20 minutes from our house, and 3 weeks ago was the first time we've been to a game. We've been to NY Mets games, but sadly, never to the minor league game that's practically in our back yard.

What took us so long? I have no idea. But this summer we said that we would finally go see a Lakewood BlueClaws game. And of course, as is always the case, we asked ourselves, "Why didn't we do this sooner?"

Minor league baseball games are a fun, inexpensive night out for the whole family. The tickets cost a mere $10 per person, and the food was reasonably priced. It was incredibly hot the night we went to the game, and we drank our weight in water, which ended up costing us a fair amount of money. Otherwise, it was a deal!

Our seats were in right field and we had a nice view of pre-game warm ups.

What's a baseball game without ballpark snacks? In addition to chicken fingers and fries, there may have been some cotton candy and some ice cream too!

The girls had a great time, although I'm not sure how much of the game they actually watched. But as soon as this game eneded, they asked if we could come to another game. So I guess that's a good sign!

Do you have either a minor league or major league baseball team in your area? Do you go to the games?
