Falling In Love with Fair Isle

Tuesday, January 26, 2016
I wouldn't classify preppy as my primary style, but I have a tendency to lean in to it (this post on Instagram proves my point). It goes back to growing up in the 1970s when Lacoste shirts were all the rage. Every once in a while something preppy will strike a chord with me. This winter it's Fair Isle sweaters.

When my husband bought me this one for my birthday, I wasn't convinced it was for me, but I was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very cooperative. It was a bit too warm to wear it in early December. So when it snowed this past weekend, I couldn't wait to wear it.

A Fair Isle sweater is a perfect pairing for white jeans in the winter. It's a heavy knit sweater with a wintery design so it balances the white denim. For more tips on wearing white jeans in winter, see this post.

Hunter wellies aren't for the rain only. They are ideal for snow as long as you have a heavy sock to wear with them. The Hunter boot liners are super cute, but they aren't warm enough for snow. Grab a pair of Heater Holders socks for your Hunters.

I can't say enough good things about my Hunters. They are super cute and functional too.
