Trend To Try: Adult Coloring Books

Wednesday, September 7, 2016

When I was a little girl my favorite past time was coloring. It satisfied my OCD tendencies and calmed my normally energetic self. I could sit for hours to color and never became bored. I learned my coloring skills from my sister Holly who was always a good colorer. I can remember watching her out of the corner of my eye, taking note to her technique and trying to adapt my own to mimic hers.

Lately, I've taken to coloring as a means to escape some of the stress and chaos in the everyday. Not only does coloring help to relax me, but it also helps to restore order when I feel that things have gotten a little out of control.

You can find adult coloring books almost anywhere these days from the grocery store to book stores. But this travel-themed coloring book, this Color Me Calm coloring book, and this geometrical coloring book are three of my favorites.

Have you tried adult coloring books? What did you think?
