What We're Reading

Tuesday, January 9, 2018
The cold, snowy weather we've been having here on the east coast hasn't exactly gotten me excited. It has, however, been conducive to reading. Staying in, throwing on my comfiest clothes, and hunkering down with a good book has been one of the things I look forward to most on the weekends.

Here's what we are currently reading as we try to stay warm and dry:

What I'm Reading: The Financial Diet by Chelsea Fagan
In addition to popular fiction, I'm making an effort to read more self-help and educational books starting with this one. What I love about this book is that it doesn't matter what your financial situation is, how much money you make or have, or what your age is. The Financial Diet is full of tools to help you budget, reduce your debt, and understand investments. It's about everything from the clothes you put in your closet to the food you put on your table to the financial habits you have and the decisions you make about money each and every day.

What Emma's Reading: One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus
If you are an adult who loves young adult fiction, you'll love this The Breakfast Club with a whodunit twist. Five high schoolers walk into detention one Monday afternoon, but only four students walk out. One is found dead and investigators have 4 suspects with motive. Any young adult and adult will tear through this juicy read!

What Harper's Reading: No Passengers Beyond This Point by Gennifer Choldenko
When three siblings find themselves in a place they've never heard of with no idea to get home, they set out on a Wizard of Oz-like adventure in a fantastical place. This is a fun story of survival with lots of action and sharp dialogue.
