Playing Favorites

Playing Favorites is a monthly series where I share my latest obsessions, favorite finds, and any kind of entertainment (books, movies, TV, podcasts, and magazines) that I am loving. Here's what I am loving this month.

1. NerdWallet - It can be overwhelming trying to decide on the best credit card(s) for your needs. Do you want one that racks up airline miles or would you rather have one with a 0% APR? Are you looking for new car insurance or a savings account with a high yield? NerdWallet is at your service to help you compare hundreds of options so you find the one that's best for you. NerdWallet also helps you track your spending so you can see where you can make some adjustments.

2. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day In-Shower Styler - In the summer months, I usually air-dry my hair. Without styling products, it's almost impossible to get the perfect air-dry hair that's free of frizz. This styler is applied in the shower and lightly rinsed out. When you get out, you tousle your hair and allow to dry. Up until I discovered this product, I used salt sprays which tend to pull your hair down, but this styler has a thickening molecule that adds body, which is especially helpful if you have straight, fine hair like I do.

3. Goop Phys. Ed. Recovery Bath Soak - I swear by soaking in epsom salts for workout recovery. When a girlfriend gifted me a bag of the Goop recovery bath soak, I couldn't wait to try it. Goop products have an impeccable reputation for quality, and I was almost certain I wouldn't be disappointed in this product. It lived up to all my expectations. So when I finished the bag, I was quick to order a replacement. It's pricey at $35 per bag (that's 3 cups/3 baths), but it's worth it. It's all natural, chemical-free and the essential oils smell wonderful.

4. Acrylic Makeup Organizer - I'm a beauty product junkie for sure. There's only so much organization that baskets can do. When I saw this organizer in a roundup of products under $30 on Amazon, I had to have it. It has 6 layers, each of varying heights to accommodate all sorts of products of all sizes. It fits perfectly on a shelf in our linen closet and has freed up quite a bit of space for other products (hah!).

5. Wrap Front Cami Bodysuit - When it's crazy hot and humid outside, the last thing I want to do is sweat through my clothes and have them stick to my skin. When I found this bodysuit, I ordered it in every color since it was on sale plus an additional 50% off (order yours here). I've been wearing them on repeat for the past two weeks. They look great with shorts and jeans, and when it gets chillier at night, I throw on a denim jacket over the bodysuit.

6. Pink Himalyan Sea Salt Candle by Madewell - I haven't been back to Iceland since I first went there in the mid-90s, but I have many fond memories of my visit. One of those memories is the way the Blue Lagoon looked, felt, and smelled. This candle comes this close to reproducing the scent of the geothermal spa. If I close my eyes and let my mind wander, it's almost as if I am right back there bathing in the steaming waters and harmonizing with nature.
