My Summer Reading List

Thursday, May 24, 2012
Ever since finishing the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy for the second time, I haven't been inspired to pick up a book. But now that summer is upon us, I'll kick up my summer reading a notch. I've drafted a summer reading list and have every hope and intention of finishing each and every book on my list.

Here's what I'll be reading this summer. Have you read any of these?

1. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry (currently reading)
A story of two 10 year old girls in Copenhagen during World War II. My daughter is currently reading this book for her 4th grade class. It sounded compelling, so I decided to download it and read along.

2. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
An historically fictitious account of Ernest Hemingway's first wife Hadley's life in 1920's Paris. After seeing the movie Midnight in Paris, I knew I had to read this book.

3. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins

4. Skinnydipping by Bethenny Frankel
In Frankel's first novel, we follow the adventures of Faith Brightstone as she pursues her dream of having it all in the city of angels.

5. The Double Bind by Chris Bohjalian
I've wanted to read this book for what seems like forever. Laurel Estabrook is attacked while riding her bike in rural Vermont. Her life is forever changed. Laurel withdrawals into her photography and spend most of her time at a homeless shelter.

6. I Do, Now What?: Secrets, Stories, and Advice from a Madly-In-Love Couple by Giuliana and Bill Rancic

You can find me on the beach or lounging by the pool with my face buried in a book or in my Nook.

Do you have a summer reading list? Do you have any books that you'd recommend I add to my list?
