But once spring arrives, I find myself itching to buy all the cute things for the warm weather months. Plus, we are heading to California in two weeks, so I've been buying a few things for the trip. I wanted to share a few of the items I've purchased recently in case you are looking for inspiration, need some spring wardrobe update ideas, or are just plain curious about the things I am loving lately (I have a slight fascination with what other people buy).
1. Cat Eye Sunglasses - (shown below) I love to buy one trendy pair of sunglasses each spring, but I don't like to spend a fortune on a trend. So, when I saw these cat eye sunnies at Target for $10, I wasted no time tossing them into the cart. I thought they'd be perfect for our upcoming spring break trip to southern California. I mean, aren't they so LA?
2. Crystal Buds Ear Jackets - On a rare occasion, I'll wear statement earrings, but for the most part, I like delicate earrings like these ear jackets (see photo above). They are simple but make a big statement with their uniqueness. I've gotten so many compliments on them, and when I purchased them, they were only $9.
3. Camo Cargo Pants - I needed a new pair of camo pants as the last ones I purchased were from Urban Outfitters about 5 years ago. I wasn't sure about these "cargo" style pants, but for 50% off ($55), I went for it. I tried them on the day they were delivered and loved them! The price is no longer discounted (they are $98 now), but if you need a great pair of camo pants, buy these. Or keep your eyes peeled for them to go on sale as J.Crew often has great sales.
4. Block Heel Sandals - To dress up casual summer dresses, I like to add a heel, but not one that's too high. I found these low block heel sandals on sale and bought them in tan (and I'm considering buying a pair on black too since I ❤️ them so much). They are so versatile. They look great with dresses, cropped pants, ankle length jeans, and shorts.
5. Canteen Crossbody Bag - I had to jump on the circle bag bandwagon sooner or later. Since I had to do it, I thought this blush pink faux leather crossbody bag was the best way to go. I can't wait to use this bag for a girls' night out or a coffee date with a friend when I know I won't need to lug around the usual necessities.
6. Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum - I've been a Mario Badescu devotee for years. The line of skincare products is very affordable and incredibly effective. The drying lotion is my all-time favorite product, and the facial sprays aren't too far behind. I've wanted to try this serum for so long but couldn't justify the $45 price tag...until it was 50% off as part of Ulta Beauty's beauty steals. I grabbed it for $22.50. You can't beat that for a high quality vitamin C serum.
7. Utility Field Jacket - I got super lucky to find this jacket for just $25 over the weekend at Old Navy. It was in the clearance section, but online it's full price. Check your local store to see if you can find it on sale. If not, come back here and purchase it. I bought the olive green color, and I really like it. It's not stiff as many utility jackets can be. This one has a lot of give and plenty of pockets for sunglasses, money, your phone, and more!
8. Indoor/Outdoor Rug - Spring is coming, and I'm getting excited about spending time on our deck with a cocktail and a good book. But last weekend when the weather was mild, I ventured out on our day after a long winter of not stepping foot out there. It was a little messy to say the least, and I noticed that our outdoor rug had definitely seen better days. I wasted no time ordering this one from QVC. I ordered navy, but there are other colors available. After I ordered the rug for our deck, I came across this article, and now I'm thinking I need an outdoor rug for indoors.
