Diane Von Furstenberg invented the wrap dress in 1974. For over 40 years this iconic dress has been a solid wardrobe staple for generations of women. While its style has evolved over the years, the wrap dress has remained a classic. This summer especially, I've fallen in love with wrap dresses. I bought a super cute, inexpensive one at TJ Maxx at the beginning of the summer and this one at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Here are a few of my other favorite wrap dresses.

1. Not all wrap dresses are stuffy and meant for the office. This striped wrap dress is fun with colorful embroidery and a drapey tassel-tie waist.

2. Known for her colorful shift dresses, Lilly Pulitzer takes a detour with this wrap dress. The signature splash of color in this dress is perfect for your next vacation.

3. If a weekend casual dress is what you're looking for, this fringe trim wrap dress is for you. Fringe trim sleeves add a playful touch to a sophisticated wrap dress.

4. This pretty little ruffle wrap dress made of lightweight chiffon is less than $50! Also available in 5 other prints/colors.

5. Wear this contrast binding wrap maxi to a bridal or baby shower this summer.

6. At the office or on the weekend, this sleeveless wrap dress is appropriate for just about any occasion.

7. This easy, breezy cotton faux wrap dress will become a summer staple. Transition it into fall by adding a denim jacket.

8. Comfort is key in this cami wrap dress with adjustable straps.
