Playing Favorites

Playing Favorites is a monthly series where I share my latest obsessions, favorite finds, and any kind of entertainment (books, movies, TV, podcasts, and magazines) that I am loving. Here's what I am loving this month.

1. Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon - Fans of the adorable Reese Witherspoon will love this little-bit-of-everything book by Reese. She shares tidbits of her life, favorite recipes, heartwarming stories of growing up in the south, and how she incorporates her southern heritage into her modern LA lifestyle. I am especially loving the recipes that Reese shares and her tips for how we can all channel our inner southern belle!

2. Origins GingZing Gel Moisturizer - If you feel like your mid-life skin has lost its luster, this gel moisturizer from Origins will add a little zing to your skin. With skin-boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean, this lightweight and oil-free moisturizer jumpstarts hydration levels and leaves lackluster-looking skin refreshed, revitalized, and glowing.

3. Method Creative Growth Art Collection Foaming Handwash (Jasmine Lily) - I'm a sucker for colorful packaging. When I saw this hand soap at Target, I knew it would be perfect for one of our bathrooms. As it turns out, I love the scent as much as the packaging, and it has now found a spot in our kitchen where I've been using it multiple times per day.

4. Afternoon Acoustic Playlist on Spotify - I no longer listen to traditional radio. When I bought a car in May 2017, Volvo gave me 6 months of Sirius radio at no charge. I've since extended my subscription, and I listen to Spotify at home, in the car, and at the gym. Last week I played Spotify's Afternoon Acoustic playlist while I was trying to hustle through a bunch of blog posts one afternoon. I haven't stopped listening! It's great, if that's the kind of music you're into (which, obviously, I am). I ended up adding so many of the songs to my own playlists. It's worth a listen...if for no other reason than to increase your productivity!

5. Chosen Foods Avocado Oil - I recently made the switch to this healthier, better-tasting oil, and I've never looked back. I use it for cooking and for dressings and sauces. I occasionally still use olive oil, but avocado oil has become my go-to oil for just about everything.

6. Recess Post-Workout Facial Cleansing Wipes - I have a slight obsession with visually stalking people in the gym locker room. (I swear, it's a lot less creepy than it sounds)!) I like to see what type of gym bag they carry, what toiletries/beauty products they use, and what kind of pre- and post-workout rituals they have. On a recent morning, a woman next to me in the locker room had her bag sitting on the bench when I noticed these wipes. I asked her about them, and she couldn't stop raving about them and told me that I was crazy not to order them. So, I did, and now I love them too! They are amazing in that they remove sweat and pollutants while cleansing and moisturizing your skin.
