It's wine season here in New Jersey. Local vineyards are gearing up for summer events including wine tastings, vineyard tours, and outdoor concerts. If you are unsure what to wear on a warm summer afternoon or evening while sipping tasty local wines, read on.

Slipdress - You want to be casual, comfortable, and stylish for a wine tasting. An easy slipdress is perfect for the occasion. This one is another inexpensive but cute option.

Tassel Necklace - Kick the dress up a notch by adding a fabulous necklace.

Straw Fedora - Hats are stylish and functional. Protect your skin and look good in the process with a straw fedora.

Sandals - Chances are you'll be doing some walking at a vineyard. If you're planning to tour the grounds, a flat sandal is your best choice.

Straw Tote - A wine tote is a must-have accessory. With room for a bottle of wine, acrylic glasses, a wine openera wine stopper, and more, this chic tote will hold all of your essentials.

Sunglasses - Vineyards aren't known for their shade, so be sure to bring your sunnies with you.

If you plan on staying in to the evening, grab a blazer or a denim jacket for later.

The key is to be comfortable while still maintaining your style. Simplicity is the focus of this outfit. Wine is easy. Your outfit should be as well.

Splurge vs. Save: Snow Boots

Monday, November 2, 2020

The weather may be mild right now, but before we know it, we'll be trudging through snow and over ice. Not one of my favorite visuals, but it's a reality, and we should be prepared for it with a pair of warm and sturdy snow boots. For years, I've been wearing my Hunter wellies in the snow, but they aren't very warm, even when I wear a boot liner or a heavy sock. I've been looking around at snow boots and was surprised at the many styles and price points. Here are two very similar styles of snow boots that I came across with very different price points.

Splurge vs. Save

Tuesday, October 6, 2020

If you've always wanted a designer handbag but couldn't justify the cost, I've found some good dupes that, unless you look very, very closely, look almost identical to the designer bag. I'm not claiming that the quality is comparable. I mean, you get what you pay for ultimately. But if you are looking for a bag that's a suitable dupe that doesn't necessarily have to last 30+ years, the bag above as well as these bags are good choices.

The 10 Best Things I've Bought From Amazon Lately

Amazon has been coming in clutch for the past six months while we've been on lockdown. And even now that most stores are open in some capacity, we are still relying heavily on Amazon. Every two weeks we've placed at least one order for anything from a handy kitchen gadget to a bathroom organization item to a cozy piece of loungewear and more. A recent browse through my Order History on Amazon inspired me to share some of my best buys with you.

Splurge vs. Save: Tie-Shoulder Tank

Monday, August 31, 2020

When I recently saw an influencer wearing the splurge version of this top, I thought it was the cutest tank, and I just had to have it. But then I saw the price ($225). I couldn't justify spending that amount of money on a top. And then, serendipitously, this morning I was browsing Banana Republic Factory online and found this almost identical top for only $20. So, you can guess which one I bought. Here are two versions of this very similar top at very different price points.

How To Find The Perfect Fitting Bra

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Did you know that four in every five women aren't wearing the right bra size, and most are unaware of it? The research found that most women don't know how to measure themselves to find the right fit, and more often than not, they don't have somewhere they feel they can go and get comfortably measured. As a result, most women end up wearing the wrong bras. Luckily these days, we have resources that help in establishing the right fit like the bra size chart and techniques to help you find the right bra size that best fits you.

So how do you know you’re wearing the wrong bra?
These are some of the mistakes made when measurements are done incorrectly and some signs of an ill-fitting bra:

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the biggest sales events of the year. Where as most sales happen in the middle or at the end of a season, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens before the season. Which means you can score brand new fall merchandise at a discount before the season even starts. Once fall arrives, you'll have lots of new goodies just waiting to be worn.

The sale opens to the public on August 19th. Until then, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you can shop the sale privately anytime up until it opens to the public depending on what level status you have as a cardholder. I'm part of the Influencers tier, and the sale opened to us today.

If you aren't able to shop the sale yet, you can preview sale merchandise and create a wishlist so that when the sale opens to you, you are ready to roll.

Here are 9 items I'm buying at this epic sale.

Where To Buy Gifts Online

Sunday, June 7, 2020

For most of us, the lockdown is still in full swing, which means stores, malls, and boutiques are closed to keep us safe and to limit the spread of COVID-19. However, summer is a busy gift-giving time of the year with college, high school, and middle school graduations, Father's Day, and birthdays. Just because stores are closed doesn't mean you can't shop. There are plenty of opportunities to purchase the perfect gift online. You just have to know where to look.

Whether you are buying from brands directly, online retailers and shops, local shops that offer e-commerce, or online catalogues, you'll find an array of gift options online to fit any budget or occasion. Online shopping has become incredibly popular within the last few years and especially so within the last few months.

4 Areas Of Fashion and Style Where You Shouldn't Follow The Trends

Saturday, April 18, 2020

You might think that to be fashionable, you need to follow the latest trends. For instance, a lot of people think staying in fashion simply means looking at what influencers or celebrities are wearing. However, this isn’t quite true. The reality is that their fashion choices may not suit you. You may not share their body type or lifestyle. When it comes to fashion trends, it’s best to follow your own direction. Decide what you like and what looks best on your body with your face and hair and how it will fit into your overall lifestyle.

10 Items I'm Using More Frequently While Sheltering In Place

Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Since going into self-isolation almost one month ago, I've found myself reaching for the same 10 items over and over again. Some are items I've used daily in the past, but now I'm using them all day, every day. Others are items that I've owned and haven't used in months, but all of a sudden, I'm putting them to use on the daily.

I know most of us aren't focused on spending unnecessarily right now, but if you want to treat yourself to something you'll use over and over again while you are staying safe at home, here's what I've been relying on.

I've learned a few things during this quarantine, and one of them is how to perfect my athleisure game. In two weeks, I've worn jeans twice, maybe. I've been living in black leggings, cozy joggers, and cute sweats. At one time, I would have considered this type of clothing to be glorified pajamas, but not anymore. I'm totally here for the athleisure look, especially during these times when we are safe at home but still want to be comfortable and look pulled together. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that are versatile and can be worn with jeans or pulled on over a bathing suit.

3 Essential Tips for Buying a Luxury Watch

Friday, January 3, 2020
photo via

A watch is so much more than merely a tool for telling the time. Your choice of watch is a statement that communicates your sense of style and personality. A luxury watch is an accessory that will get you noticed and is sure to attract attention. As a push present after I gave birth to Emma, my husband bought me a Tag Heuer watch, and it's one of my favorite pieces of jewelry after almost 18 years.

Purchasing a luxury watch can feel daunting, especially if this is the first time you've ever shopped for one. Due to the amount of money involved in buying a designer watch, and how frequently it is worn, you will need to shop carefully to choose the perfect watch for your needs.

Mad For Plaid

I love plaid. Unfortunately, the season for wearing it is a short one. I don't typically begin wearing it until after Thanksgiving, and once New Year's Day hits, I stop wearing most of my plaids. There are a few exceptions, such as a few flannel shirts and button downs, but for the most part, I put my plaids away (sadly) for another year.

The holidays are coming, and for many of us, that means weekend trips to visit and spread holiday cheer to family and friends. When you're traveling for a few days, a suitcase isn't always a practical option.  They tend to be cumbersome and take up unnecessary space in the car (or train or plane). In this case, it's best to pack your belongings in a weekend bag. Weekend bags offer plenty of space for toiletries and several changes of clothes that you'll use and wear over the course of a few days. Plus, there are so many cute styles and prints that blow any suitcase away.

Here are a few of my favorite weekend bags under $50:

Love Your Curves: 5 Fashion Tips for Making Your Body Shape Work in Your Favor

Tuesday, September 10, 2019

In most cultures, women with curvy body types are considered the pinnacle of femininity. It's only in recent decades that high fashion designers have focused on stick-figure models when they design their clothes. There's nothing wrong with either body type, but curvy women need to know how to dress for success just as much as skinny women do, but they tend to have less guidance from the fashion world.

Don't resort to just wearing the same outfit every day. Instead, learn how to love those curves and find clothes that will look great.
