After a jam-packed weekend last weekend which included our oldest daughter's 16th birthday (!!!) and Mother's Day, I am hoping to have some downtime this weekend to catch up. I've been in a total nesting mode recently and have been organizing and de-cluttering like it's my job. This weekend I am hoping to get though all my spring/summer clothes by adding what I want to keep to my closet and separating the rest into re-sell and donate piles. Otherwise, here's what else I'll be up to this weekend.
The royal wedding. Duh. All eyes will be on St. George's Chapel on Saturday as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wed. The groom is expected to arrive at the chapel around 11:15 am, local time. Here in the northeast that's 6:15 am. Meghan Markle and her mother are expected to depart from their undisclosed location at 11:20 am to make their way to the chapel. Set your clocks, friends! This is going to be good! The full Order of Service will be published on the Royal Family's website on Saturday morning so you can follow along at home.

A month ago I received an advance copy of How To Walk Away by Katherine Center. I didn't post much about it since it wasn't available for download or to purchase until May 15th. Now that you can grab a copy of it, let me tell you...you want this in your beach bag this summer! It's a love story/story of personal struggle and survival that strikes the perfect balance between funny and serious. And I found it to be a timely reminder that often our strengths are found in our weaknesses. See what else we are currently reading here.
For Mother's Day, I received a copy of What's Gaby Cooking by Gaby Dalkin as a gift. I've been crazily placing sticky notes all over pages of recipes that I plan to make. Up this weekend: southwestern cowboy caviar salad ("caviar" = black beans), gooey chocolate chip cookie squares, and chocolate coconut granola. All recipes are exclusive to the cookbook and can't be found on Gaby's website.
As a vegetarian, I have to say that my favorite time of year is farmers' market season. The bounties you can find from local farms all in one place can't be beat. I'm looking forward to fresh, local options that make summer meals that much easier and tastier. This weekend kicks off the Brick Farmers’ Market. It will run every Saturday from May 19 through September 22 at Windward Beach Park from 9am until 2pm. You can find more information and list of vendors HERE.
