As a sister to three women, an aunt to two women, and a mother to two young women, it's important to me to support women-owned businesses. Today, in honor of International Women's Day, I'm sharing a few of my favorite women-owned brands and businesses. Not only do I love the products/services these brands offer, but I love supporting women-owned businesses. Behind the success of every great woman is another woman cheering her on. Happy International Women's Day!
Billie
Billie makes razors for women designed by women. In a male-dominated market, Billie founder Georgina Cooley recognized a need for razors designed specifically for women's bodies and needs. Billie provides quality women’s razors and body care products that don’t cost more than men’s. I swear by my Billie razor and Harper loves hers too. Billie is a subscription-based service, so once you invest in the initial razor and blades, you'll be sent blades at an interval of your choosing depending on how frequently you shave and need refills.
I also love that Billie gives back and stands behind their empowerment of women. Billie is focused on a 1% contribution to specifically support BIPOC women. At Billie, there is zero-tolerance for racism and systemic oppression. A portion of every purchase made goes into supporting women.<3 nbsp="" p="">3>
Kitsch
About two years ago I purchase a satin pillowcase at Ulta that was made by Kitsch. At the time I didn't pay much attention to the brand (shame on me for not researching it). And then during the first few months of quarantine, I purchase some fabric masks from Kitsch because they were super cute. As it turns out, they became my favorite masks not only because of the adorable and chic prints but also because they are super comfortable and fit well, even when layered over an N95 mask.
After my mask purchase, I dug a little deeper into Kitsch's background to discover that the found Cassandra Thurswell is a daughter, sister, and mother who takes her job as all of the above very seriously. Women were her primary impetus behind starting Kitsch, and they are the reason the brand has grown and succeeded. Kitsch makes face masks, hair accessories, and more.

Estelle Colored Glassware
I love displaying pretty glassware just as much as I love using it. Whether it's a cake stand or a selection of coupe glasses for a special celebration, Estelle Colored Glassware offer the most gorgeous pieces of stemware and glassware for daily use and special occasions. From vibrant shade to muted, pastels, Estelle Colored Glassware has a shade that's perfect for you. Estelle's pieces are described as "jewels for your table", and honestly, that description fits perfectly.
Inspired by her grandmother who collected colorful glass pieces for Sunday dinners, Stephanie Sommerson Hall founded Estelle Colored Glassware as an homage to her grandmother and her tradition of using beautiful glass pieces for everyday dinners. Some of Hall's fondest memories are of her jaunts with her grandmother Estelle to hunt down these gorgeous vintage colorful glassware. It's where Hall's own love of colored glassware started.
ThirdLove
It makes perfect sense that a woman-owned business would make the most perfect bras ever! I bought my first ThirdLove bras a few years ago, but quickly found that it wouldn't be my last. I literally almost lived in that first bra, which was their ever popular t-shirt bra. ThirdLove gets it when it comes to building a better bra. ThirdLove offers 1/2 cup sizes for those of us who are in-between, and the bras are practical while still maintaining a look of sexiness. Most days I forget I'm wearing a bra...that's how comfortable ThirdLove bras are.
ThirdLove was co-founded by Heidi Zak in 2013 to fill a need when women felt they had two choices when it comes to bras, sexy or comfortable. Zak wanted to offer women more. She wanted women to look and feel their best in their bras without women feeling like they were making a compromise. Zak is on a mission to get every woman a great fitting, beautiful, and comfortable bra that makes her feel comfortable. ThirdLove also gives back by donating a portion of its proceeds to several charities including Support the Girls, Soles4Souls, Good360, and St. Anthony’s to donate bras to help women make powerful life changes. To date, ThirdLove has donated over $40M in bras.
Olive & June
Years ago when I started following Olive & June on Instagram, I was so envious of the manicures and pedicures posted on the account of clients who were able to visit the LA-based salon. There was so much care and creativity put into each manicure that it was hard not one of their expert manicures. Today, Olive & June sells its coveted nail polish and nail polish kits online and at several retailers throughout the US (Target, for one) so you can give yourself an Olive & June-worthy DIY mani or pedi at home.
Olive & June was founded in 2013 by mani-obsessee Sarah Gibson Tuttle in Beverly Hills, California. O&J elevates the salon experience, giving women personalized attention and luxury service at an approachable price. Tuttle named the salon after her great-grandmother and grandmother who taught her the importance of having high standards and a big heart.
