What We're Reading

A few weeks ago, I finally subscribed to the Sunday New York Times. It is definitely a commitment to read the entire paper, but I spread it out over the week with the goal of finishing it before the next paper arrives. One of my favorite sections is the Book Review. I read it from cover to cover, and often more than once. I have a running list of book recs from the review, but here are the three books we are currently reading:

What I'm Reading: The Woman In The Window by A. J. Finn
Confession: I'm not actually reading this book. I am listening to it via Audible. It's my first experience with audio books, and I'm still trying to decide how I feel about the concept. This book, however, is incredibly intriguing. Anna is a former psychiatrist and current recluse who spends her days hiding out in her New York City home. Neighbors come and go, and she takes them in and studies them. But one day she thinks she has witnessed a murder, but she's not entirely certain whether it was reality or her wild (and often alcohol-induced) imagination.

What Emma's Reading: The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen
When a young girl who dreams of being an Olympic runner loses a leg in a car accident, she thinks her world is coming to an end. As she struggles to cope with crutches and a prosthetic leg, Jessica feels oddly in the spotlight and invisible. When her family, friends, teammates, and coach rally around her, she finally has hope that she'll run again.

What Harper's Reading: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
This wildly popular book in the series is a must-read for any tween and teen (Or really anyone for that matter. I loved it!) This is the story of four friends who take a pair of ordinary jeans and turn them into something extraordinary.
