Here Comes The Sun

Yellow is such a fun, happy color. It embodies sunshine and happiness. So why then do I so seldomly wear it? Part of the reason is that I am blonde, and blondes notoriously look horrible in most shades of yellow. It washes out our skin tone and certainly does little for our hair color.

But this season's yellows are bright and vibrant, shades of yellow that actually flatter blondes. I've been making an effort to add a few yellow pieces to my wardrobe to mix things up a bit and put those dark, gloomy colors of winter behind me.

Here are a few of my favorite yellow items that have seen around this spring.

Faux Wrap Top - When I want a top that's fun yet polished, I go for a wrap top. This one (also available in black) will easily become a wardrobe staple to wear with traditional denim and white jeans.

Ruffle-Trimmed Shorts - Shorts can be really boring, so when I find a unique pair, I scoop them up. These ruffle-trimmed shorts are feminine, flirty, and are perfect for dressier occasions.

Fan-Shaped Tassel Earrings - A fantastic pair of earrings can elevate any simple, casual summer outfit. These tassel earrings are colorful and scream summer fun!

Sun Circle Tote - I change my bags with the season, and this is a fab bag for summer. It's chic and on-trend (basket bags and circle bags are the "it" bags this year) and surprisingly roomy.

Cold-Shoulder Dress - Whether you're heading to church, a coffee date, or to work, this dress can work for just about any occasion. The key to making it appropriate is how you accessorize it. The right shoes and jewelry take this dress from day to night and from Sunday to Monday.

Striped Sweater - The cutest factor of this sweater is off the charts! The combination of stripes and tipped ruffles make this sweater difficult to ignore.

Slide Sandals - Summer is all about easy. These sandals couldn't be easier or more "summery". Slide them on to head to the beach, an outdoor concert, or to make a quick iced coffee run.
