What We're Reading

Tuesday, March 29, 2016
I am finally getting back into a regular reading groove thanks to a few great books I've discovered. The right book makes all the difference. And for me, when a book and I click, I know it immediately. Actually, all three books this month are books that are on MY list to read. I've been getting into young adult books lately. Many are surprisingly good reads and are a nice distraction from some of the adult fiction I read.

Here are the books we are currently enjoying:

What I'm Reading: What She Knew by Gilly Macmillan
If you liked Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, this book is for you. In a heartbeat everything changes for a mother whose son has gone missing. As she pieces together the threadbare clues, she begins to realize that nothing and no one are what they seem.

What Emma's Reading: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

A young girl in Munich copes with the Nazi invasion by stealing books, reading them, and sharing them with her neighbors and the Jewish man in hiding in her basement.

What Harper's Reading: Lunch Money by Andrew Clements

If you are at a loss for examples of kids and adults behaving in caring, kind, thoughtful, and positive ways, pick up this book and share it with a child. With real life, attainable examples of ways to do good and give back, this book is a winner.
