Spring Break: Day 4, An Unexpected Twist

You're probably wondering where I've been...or maybe not. I've been MIA but it's not without explanation.

On Thursday, the girls and I had planned to have lunch with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and niece. I hadn't slept very well the night before. I was restless and my heart was racing. When I woke on Thursdayafter about 2 hours of sleep, my heart was still racing and I had a general feeling of anxiousness. So, after our group lunch, I went to see my general physician. He was concerned about the rapid heartbeat and high blood pressure. He advised me to go to the ER for tests. My sister-in-law, Jo-Ellen, drove me and the girls to the ER where Henry met us.

Long story short, I was admitted to the hospital in order to have some tests performed and to stabilize my blood pressure. I was discharged on Saturday with a projected diagnosis of pheochromocytoma. For more information on this condition, click here.

This week, I will receive the results of my lab work and will hopefully get a definite diagnosis. In the meantime, I have some outpatient follow-up to do this week with a cardiologist and my general practitioner.

Wish me luck!

OMG Sheila!!! Let us know how you are doing, I hope they can give you a definite diagnosis and a course of action. It's the not knowing that's hardest on me. I feel like I can deal with almost anything as long as I know what it is! Will pray for you...

Oh left a rather long comment on your decorating style post, after looking at the date I think I missed reading that one because it was posted right around my birthday and I was super busy then and fell behind in everything!
