What I've Bought Recently

Summer is winding now, and the summer sales are on! It's the perfect time to share a few of the things I've bought recently since many of the items are currently marked down...considerably. But hurry! These items are going FAST!

Montauk Tee - Some people are t-shirt people, and others simply aren't. I fall into the latter category. I own a lot of tees, but I just don't wear very many of them. After finally realizing this, I stopped buying them and only bought those that I knew I'd wear (plain white tees, for sure) like this one. It's a simple graphic tee that I can wear alone or wear under my favorite white blazer.

Gold Hoop Earrings - I had been looking for a pair of thick gold hoop earrings for a while when I came across this pair at Target. Since they are trendy, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them. This pair is less than $10, and there is also a pack of 3 pairs of varying sizes as well.

Straw Beach Hat - I needed a new beach hat and wanted one with a wide brim to provide ample coverage when I don't have an umbrella. I love the raw edge detail of this one and the black ribbon. Also, a bonus is that it doesn't have some kitschy saying on it...I'm over those hats.

Chambray Wrap Top - The only chambray tops I own are long-sleeved and a one-shoulder top. I've wanted a short-sleeved top, and when I found this wrap top with flutter sleeves at J.Crew Factory, it was just what I was looking for.

Curling Iron - Hair appliances are very personal items. What someone else recommends isn't necessarily what you'll love, so I always take recommendations with a grain of salt. However, when I recently complimented a friend on her soft waves, she wasted no time telling me about this curling iron. It comes in several size barrels, but she uses the 1.5" barrel, and so that is what I bought. I love it for longer hair and creating those soft waves reminiscent of 1920's Hollywood glam.

Denim Cutoffs - This weekend staple has become one of my favorites. They are high-rise shorts, so if you don't like high-waisted, skip to the next item. But I actually love the fit and cut of these shorts. I'm not forever pulling them down (or up, for that matter). They stay put and are great to wear with shorter style tops (not cropped - I'm too old for that!).

Card Case - I feel like I've featured this card case way too many times on the blog, but I seriously love it. It's perfect for tossing into a clutch to hold your ID, debit card, and cash. It's not ideal for carrying alone as it doesn't have a strap or key ring to easily grasp. I like to put it inside another bag that may not have pockets or slots for cards, etc.

Seersucker Dress - This summer has been brutally hot, and some of the easiest pieces to wear in warm weather are dresses. They are super easy and you can throw them on and go. This one is lined but lightweight. I love the seersucker for summer. For fall, layer a denim jacket on top for cooler days and nights.

Ruffle Swimsuit - I had this suit on repeat last week in Rehoboth Beach. It's so comfortable and so CUTE! I just love it. After reading all the reviews, I sized up one size and am so glad I did. Everyone was right. It runs small.

Tote Bag - I ran into Target to pick up a few toiletries for Rehoboth two weeks ago and spotted this amazing tote bag. I thought it was so fab, but seriously, do I need another tote bag?? Yes! Because...all the totes!! I bought it, of course, because why not? It's so luxe. You'd never know it's faux leather and only $40!

Rolling Stones Tank - I've been in a Rolling Stones phase this summer, and by that, I mean they are practically all I've listened to on Spotify all summer. So when I saw this tank (and in honor of their world tour this summer), I scooped it up. It's on sale now for under $20.
