Things to do this summer...

I've got 7 days, count them, 7 days until school ends. I'm one of those people who likes to jam pack our summers with lots of activities. I've never been one to sit around and relax. I don't do that very well. So, I've got a little less than two weeks to do my planning. Luckily, I stumbled upon this book about a month ago.

It's chock full of suggestions for places to visit and things to see. I take the title with a grain of salt. Really, before you're 12? I don't think so. Before you're 80, maybe. Anyway, here are a few of the suggestions:

a lighthouse
an aquarium
the house where your parents grew up
a cemetery
a street market
a famous road (Route 66)
a marvel of engineering (think The Golden Gate Bridge)

Living at the beach offers us many options, but every so often, I like to veer off the beaten path, and this book offers plenty of ideas for doing just that.
