Playing Favorites is a monthly series where I share my latest obsessions, favorite finds, and any kind of entertainment (books, movies, TV, podcasts, and magazines) that I am loving. Here's what I am loving this month.

1. Fitbit Versa Smartwatch - After researching different options, I finally upgraded from the Fitbit Alta to the Versa. I don't know what took me so long! The Versa is so much more robust with so many of the features that I've been wanting for so long. The metrics for tracking sleep are so much more powerful than the Alta. I love that the battery life is 4 days (my Alta was running low after 1.5 days), and that I can set alarms and timers, play music, work with a "coach" and access workouts.

2. America's Test Kitchen Cookbook - After hearing so many people (from friends to podcast hosts to bloggers) rave about this cookbook, I finally bought it. There are so many easy and accessible recipes in this book, and you can't beat the reputation of America's Test Kitchen. Some favorites: crispy beef tacos and the lemon bars are out of this world!

3. 365 Everyday Value, Liquid Energy Shot, Mandarin Orange - A few weeks ago while picking up a salad at Whole Foods, I grabbed a few bottles of this energy shot. In the past, I've tried other energy shots, but they've made me jittery rather than giving me a gradual energy boost that has lasted for several hours, as promised. With natural ingredients such as green tea extract, I'm getting an energy boost naturally. I've been drinking them just before I hit the gym. On rest days, I drink it when I'm starting to feel sluggish mid-afternoon.

4. Reco App - Reco is a simple way to share, discover, capture, and discuss the books you love with friends and trusted experts. Although I use and love Goodreads, it doesn't allow me the ability to categorize books. The Reco app allows you to categorize books according to genre (thriller, romantic, comedy, biography, popular fiction, etc.). When I read books, I like to switch between genres, and Reco app has allowed me to quickly locate books in my list in my favorite categories.

5. Zicam RapidMelts - These quick-dissolve tablets are taken at the first sign of a cold. They reduce the severity of symptoms such as runny nose, coughing, sore throat, sneezing, and nasal congestion. I bought these a few weeks ago when it felt like I was coming down with a cold. I continued to take one every 3 hours for 2 days, and my cold never progressed beyond some annoying nasal congestion.

6. Marconi Hot Giardiniera - I have been eating this delicious condiment on just about everything lately. My favorite way to eat it is to spread it on Italian bread. It's so good, and what sets it apart from other giardinieras is that it's in oil rather than salty brine. The oil adds such a great texture and richness to it that it's hard to resist putting it on everything.
