Re-entry into the work week after an extra long weekend (my kids had off from school on Friday and Monday) is never easy. But if I prepare myself mentally, it makes it that much easier to hit the ground running on a Tuesday, post-holiday. Although I worked Friday, I truly took the day off on Monday, and it felt great. I dropped my youngest daughter off to babysit and then I hit the gym for a great workout and sweat sesh in the steam room (which I re-discovered since my gym's sauna has been broken for a few weeks). So, when Tuesday morning rolled around, I was ready for it!

Here's what I've been up to this week and my plans for the weekend.

The 91st Academy Awards are on Sunday, and I am so ready for them. There are so many amazing contenders this year. Haven't seen a movie yet? You still have time! Here is a list of 8 Oscar nominees that you can stream before Sunday. Not enough time to stream all of them? At a minimum, I recommend watching 'Black Panther' (nominated in several categories, including Best Picture), 'Roma' (nominated in several categories, including Best Picture), 'Isle of Dogs' (Best Animated Feature), and 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' (Best Visual Effects - which are INCREDIBLE!).

In a Playing Favorites post from last year, I recommended Refinery29's Money Diaries. I am still obsessed with Money Diaries, in fact, last night I stayed up way too late to catch up on recent entries. Just in case you can't quite quench your thirst for how other women are spending their money, now there's a Money Diaries podcast (🙌). The weekly podcast is new to the scene (there are only 2 episodes, currently). Each week there's a topic about money, and the hosts chat with women regarding the topic and delve into all the complexities around money.

While my husband is more of an "all day sauce" kind of guy, I like a pasta sauce that's quick and easy to make. When I found this roasted red pepper sauce, I jumped on it. I had all the ingredients on hand, total prep time was less than 20 minutes, and everyone loved it. This recipe is a keeper!

While browsing Pinterest, I came across the cutest graphics for smoothie recipes. I love how the ingredients are presented. It makes the smoothie seem so much easier to make, and you can quickly scan the graphic to see if there are any ingredients that you don't like. So, of course, I pinned a bunch of the recipes and will be making these over the next few weeks.

So, tell me. What do you have planned this weekend?
