Weekend Dispatch

We FINALLY had a weekend with gorgeous weather. It really was glorious. I spent the better part of Sunday afternoon cleaning our deck and getting it ready for the unofficial start of summer this weekend. I bought a new outdoor carpet and a new umbrella, but we still need new furniture. I've seen a sectional that I like, but if you have outdoor furniture that you love, let me know what you have and why you love it. I can't believe this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. We have a low key weekend planned with a few barbecues and parties. Otherwise, here's what I'm up to this week:

When the spa at my gym advertised CBD oil massages, I was intrigued. It sounded wonderful, but would it actually be as great as it sounded? This massage is ideal for reducing pain and inflammation and alleviating sore joints and aching muscles. I booked my massage, and I'll let you know what I think. If you are local to the Jersey shore, you can book yours too (or any other massage if this one doesn't interest you).

After seeing just about every digital influencer post about binge watching Dead To Me, I finally started watching it on Netflix over the weekend. It is so good. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini co-star, and they both give commanding performances. If you watched Bloodline, you'll remember Cardellini from that show. This dark comedy explores friendships, forgiveness, and grief.

Some nights I fall asleep without a problem. But other nights my mind is racing, and I can't seem to quiet it. This inevitably leads to insomnia, which I'd like to avoid at all costs. In addition to these ways that help me get a better night's sleep, I've also been listening to this Rain Sounds playlist on Spotify. Is there anything more soothing than a light rain (or if you prefer a thunderous storm, there are playlists for that) to lull you into a satisfying slumber?

This weekend marks the unofficial start of summer and that means it's s'mores season! I love this take on s'mores: campfire sugar cone s'mores. They are a lot easier to hold and a lot less messy, but just as tasty.

So, tell me. What do you have planned this weekend?
