Slither Into Summer In A Snakeskin Print Dress

Tuesday, May 28, 2019

Every summer I seem to lean in to a particular trend or item of clothing. One summer I wore shorts non-stop. The next summer I couldn't get enough of wearing cute, flirty skirts. The summer after that I bought all the shorts, literally every embroidered, denim, distressed, scalloped, and tie-waisted pair I could find.

This summer, I am declaring it the summer of dresses. I've already bought at least 10 dresses that will be on repeat all summer long. I'll be sharing more pictures of those as the summer goes by, but today, I am teaming up with my my blogging friend extraordinaire, Deborah from Fabulous After 40, to share one of our favorite summer dresses. This snakeskin print, keyhole dress is, by far, my favorite.

MY OUTFIT DETAILS:

When I saw this dress at Nordstrom Rack, it was the print that initially caught my eye. But as I took a closer look at and feel of the dress, I realized that this truly is the ideal dress for summer. It's lightweight, has adjustable spaghetti straps, and a keyhole closure. It's a little sexy but also classy, which is a combination that I love.

It's also on the edgy side with its exotic snakeskin print, which is popular trend this season. This dress would be a great option for a girls' night out or a date night. For a more casual outing, throw on a denim jacket over it. Or dress it up with a little black cardigan.

I've been looking for a white clutch for summer, but so many of them seemed too stark. When I found this faux leather circle clutch, I knew I had to have it. I love the contrast of the rectangular clutch with the circle handle. Plus, its nice and roomy interior gives me plenty of space for all my evening essentials.

Although a black sandal would work here, I love the look of this neutral colored ankle strap sandal with this dress. The beige offsets the black in the dress and creates a nice balance to the the bold print of the dress. This is a very popular sandal, and you can find many variations of it. I like the look of this short stiletto heel plus it's super comfortable as compared to a higher heel.

I don't like to spend a lot on trends, so I was thrilled that this dress was under $30. At a price point like that, I can wear the trend while it's in style and not feel guilty for donating the dress after the trend has run its course.

Be sure to stop by to see Deborah from Fabulous After 40's summer dress. Her pretty floral print dress will inspire you to stock up on the prettiest summer dresses to wear for any occasion.
